With all the fuss around the upcoming Sony’s Xperia Play and with graphics giant Nvidia now on board with its Tegra Mobile GPU, the Android gaming scene is really starting to gather pace and is starting to catch the eye of those of us down at Pixel Towers who initially dismissed it as a poor mans iPhone.

Initially sceptical over the technology utilised in Microsoft’s latest gadget, i personally held off to see which would be the better implementation between both Sony’s Move and the Kinect. After deliberating over the possible implementation i felt that the Wii fulfilled my desire for a controller tracking motion solution and that even after a less than impressive stint with an EyeToy i would still go for the Kinect.

Final Fantasy, Call of Duty & Resident Evil. All these titles have something in common; they are well known gaming brands with an established user base. Something else they have in common is that they all started life exclusively before the dawn of the mobile gaming platforms available today. Produced by mainstream developers and publishers they storm the charts with their massive budgets on the home consoles whilst on the the iPhone and other handheld devices, most barely even manage a second look.

With Christmas fast approaching, most of us are spending big money on friends and family so spending large amounts of cash to get our gaming fix isn’t really an option.
