Bats is back
Finally we are now starting to get some of the new art work to wet our Batarangs for the upcoming Batman: Arkham City.
This new art work is showing that Cat woman and 2 Face will be the main villains this time, but i am sure that the Joker will make an appearance at some point in the game.
The shots come from GameInformer magazine, which ran Arkham City details in its latest issue.
The mag revealed that the inmates of Arkham will run riot in a section of Gotham City’s slums, which has been walled off to contain them.
Also, as the GameInformer screens suggest, Two-Face will play a big part in the sequel as he sets out to murder Catwoman to earn respect from his fellow loons.
Batman: Arkham City was revealed last week when along with a release period of Autumn 2011

New Halo Reach announcement arrives

Well Microsoft has had a big build up recently saying that they had and i quote a “Very special halo: Reach announcement lined up” What could this massive announcement possibly be for one of the Xbox’s flagship titles…….
Ready?
Microsoft have assembled a star studded (Ahem) Super squad to take on the best Halo players the country has to offer. Who’s in it, we hear you ask? Well, Rio Ferdinand, obviously. Jason-Bradbury-the-bald-one-from-The-Gadget-Show (his full name). And attractive (here come the dreaded words) T4 presenter Jameela Jamil.
There’s also England Rugby ‘hunk’, Ben Cohen. They’ll be more celebrities announced in the coming weeks. Our money’s on that prat from N-Dubz

The team behind Bioshock tease us with Project Icarus
After rather cruelly soliciting guesses from fans as to what Irrational’s next game might be, the studio formerly known as 2K Boston has launched a viral website called WhatIsIcarus.com Those curious enough to enter the website will be treated with, well nothing. The site is currently just a black void with a small grey blob in the middle.
It does make you wonder though – what is Icarus?
Fortunately, the studio headed up by Bioshock and System Shock creator Ken Levine has a press event scheduled for August 11 in New York – just before Gamescom in Cologne – so hopefully we’ll know what Icarus is soon. While Irrational has been quite on the new games front, it has been digging out some interesting content on their older titles. The studio recently released early artwork for System Shock 2.

Another blow for Kinect from Ubisoft

Kinect has had its fair share of praise for innovation and moving the platform forward for interactive games. But has also recently come under fire due to the £129.99 price tag that it will have here in the UK. Possibly another nail in the coffin comes from Publishing giants Ubisoft, with their concerns due to the seemingly incompatibility with “Hardcore Games”
Narrative Director for Ubisoft H.A.W.X 2 Edward Douglas has said that losing button control for Air Combat games could risk its authenticity. I think that it is fair to say that one expects to be running around their living room with their arms out pretending to be a jet fighter. But comments such as this from Ubisoft don’t help the plight of Kinect.

The Popo shut us down. R4 cards a thing of the past

For all of those people that liked their DS games free and pirated, this is going to become a thing of the past.
A new ruling from the High Court in London has officially outlaws the importing, advertising and the sale of R4 Cards. The cartridge for those who don’t know allows DS owners to transfer digital games downloaded on their PC to their console. The R4 card and other such devices have been put to the the sword due to the declining Software sales.
There have been parties that have tried to argue that these cards can be used for legal applications such as homebrew apps. However the court ruled that the R4 must first circumvent Nintendo’s security systems before it can work, therefore making it illegal.
So there we are folks the end of R4 is apon us.

Dragon Age 2 Announced

Finally announced as a Q1 release for 2011, Dragon Age 2 will be hitting X360 and PC with an expected release in March. Like Mass Effect 2 before it, it now seems that Dragon Age will be ditching the character creation system in order to focus on a more cinematic deveopment of a pre created persona, Hawke. Its been confiemed on the Bioware forums that you may choose the first name of your character and whether they are male or female. Its likely you may be able to customise the look somewhat but that is still to be confirmed.
More as we hear it.

MK E3 Update
Looks like the rumours were true although the game here doesnt resemble the trailer we posted earlier, this instead looks like a cross of MK characters in settings similar to MK abeit the upgraded graphics engine. The game looks a lot more fluid than previous entries but only time will tell.

New Mortal Kombat in the Works
With all the rumours and e3 around the corner, the only thing that can increase the tension and anticipation around this game franchise would be something like a live action trailer with mainstream actors ……. someone is obviously in my head !!!
The team responsible for the previous MK games have already said the game will be going back to its origins and original Adult Only stance. The trailer represents this well and here’s hoping we’ll get more news at e3
