 Microsoft Kinect
Now i have been looking for some sort of interactive bit of kit. I have played the Wii and enjoyed it but thought that i might try someting different.
I have been hanging on for MS Kinect to come out. That is until yesterday whe play announced the selling price to be £129.99.
Is it just me or does anyone else think that this is way over the top for an "ADD ON" to the already expensive console that we have bought.
I can get a new Wii plus games and other bits for the sime price if i shop around. Plus that face that sony's new Move is going to be a fraction of the cost of Kinect.
Sorry Microsoft i am not angry just disappointed

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
I'm really looking forward to it. I just bought the new 360 (had a Falcon already) and the girlfriend is looking forward to Kinect Zumba! I'm loking forward to Kinect sports. The price is a bit steep but the technology used it so much cooler than the Wii.

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
Yeah i will admit that it does look cool. But i think that i might wait till after Christmas before putting my hand in my pokect for it. I have a feeling that MS will keep the proce high untill Sony's Move starts to build momentum then they will drop the price.
Plus i would like to try before i buy here at Pixel towers we have had some reports of lag when playing games. Might also be worth waiting for the first couple of patches to be sent out.

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
ha! pixel towers!i think it does look kool for a certain type of gaming but can`t see it working out for some genre`s,like driving and war games,i think i may get bored of it quite quick and pick up my controller again.it does look impressive tho!!i def would`nt pay that for it,even if it probbly is worth it for the impressive technology.think i`d wait a good few months for the price to drop just for the fact that i would use it for abit to mess around with and show it off then not use it much and go back to regular old pad gaming.

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
I reckon you guys have all summed it up to be fair!
Bottom line is that I reckon it will be cool... I love Rock Band and the Wii etc when I can be bothered and when people are round etc, but does the casual market really wanna spend so much on an XBOX and a Kinect?
I doubt it!!! Plus it looks like it requires more organisation to set up too... Though I could be wrong!

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
Far too expensive.
There was an interview with one of the head guys over at MS during E3 about Kinect, and he was saying there were 2 schools of thought waring it out over Kinect.
One said that they should sell it cheap (~£50), get it into households, and then make money on all the games etc they sell for it.
The other said price it high and recoup all the R&D costs.
Looks like the latter won. Which is sad, as I think the price it low and get everyone to buy one is a much better idea.

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
i agree, its not really something i am that excited about n e way but i think if it was £50 it could`ve pushed me to buy it through curiosity!i think they`re missing out on sales from people like me who are still undecided!

Well i think that i have made my mind up i think i will just stick and get a Wii. Well that is as long as i can get it past the front room police at home and not get a roasting for putting get another bit of tech in it.

 Re: Microsoft Kinect
Just need to sell it to the Mrs as something she wants. My wife loves Wii sports, Wii Fit, EA trainer etc etc. Also New Super Mario Bros. Wii is great fun in co-op (now dubbed 'Divorce Mode')
