About Us

For Gamers, By Gamers
Pixel Junkies was started by 3 friends and collegues who have a passion for gaming in its many forms and wanted to give something back to the community.
Alex / AlexWilla
Alex started playing games at an early age with his first experience coming from a Spectrum +2 computer. This grew into a hobby leading to the purchase of most consoles and computers available throughout the eighties and nineties finally culminating in the current generation of platforms. His favoured gaming genres lie in 1st Person Shooters, One on One Fighters, Japanese RPGs and Platforming Adventure.
Alex's all time most influencial games include Final Fantasy 7, Doom, Street Fighter 2, Mario 64 and Head Over Heels
Matt / RaginKileak
After initally finding interest in gaming through a Spectrum ZX (128k) Matt was bought a NES console, some two or three years after it's brightest days. Despite this, he amassed a strong collection (for an eleven year old) of forty odd games by scouring bargain bins and the like. After around a year and another birthday, an independant games retailer opened within walking distance, and Matt found that five NES games could be turned into one SNES game. This began his obsession with playing, beating and trading games, keeping only those which he considered to be worthy of a permanent or long term role.
After taking a job at Gameplay.com during the golden age of the .com rush, Matt learned to become an excellent salesman, learning what games were best for what kind of people, and gaining a passion for expressive speech and description. This led to roles writing for several major websites and catalogues, as well as a hearty interest in PC gaming.
Matt has purchased every new console since the SNES, and has also at some point owned almost every retro system including the Atari Jaguar, Nintento Virtual Boy and Panasonic 3DO. Matt's influences are Dizzy, The Secret of Monkey Island, Heroquest, North Vs South, Super Smash TV, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Mario Kart, Tekken, Need for Speed, Pro Evolution Soccer, Command and Conquer, Soldier of Fortune, Final Fantasy VII and VIII, Shattered Galaxy, Medieval Total War, Jet Set Radio, Perfect Dark, Mario 64, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Morrowind, Thief III and so on.... Matt prefers playing Strategy and First Person Shooter's with a huge soft spot for a well done western RPG like Oblivion or Fallout.
Stu / Super Stu22
The older Stu gets the more games he plays. With a long lineage of gaming, Stu started with humble beginnings on an Atari 64 and moved to the super powerful Amiga 64 with the 1mb upgrade(Yeah supercomputing). He first got hooked playing Batman, Cannon Fodder and Rogue Trooper and has at one point or another owned most consoles and handhelds over the years right up to today’s machines. Stu can be found very much at home on most FPS’s but he also has a penchant for action adventure games. He's just discovered the Rock band drums and has unleashed the inner drummer on his delighted (read: Annoyed) neighbours.
Stu's most influencial games have been have been Cannon Fodder, Legend of Zelda, Call of Duty and more recently BioShock and Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
